I just bought a new garage door and I can not get to take my door all the way and all the way up.?

I have read the instructions and I get to open it all the way up or down all the way, but not both. I've tried everything I can think to try including the transfer of adaptation chain. Incidentally, I have a Craftsman unit 3 / 4 horsepower chain drive.

Measure the height of you garage door. The "standard" gate size is 7 feet high. Out of the box, Craftsman openers can lift a door 7 to 7 1 / 2 feet. If you have an 8 feet or taller door will that appropriate extension kit for your first game - appears at the end of the manual on "accessories" page. Using the kit required to move motor unit further back in the garage, so if you can live with the door not fully opening all the way, will save some trouble.
