Brand new Genie garage door opening lights stay ahead all the time.?

This is a completely new unit. The first time I connected in the lights came on and never went. I only have a basic wall switch to open and close the door. It has a separate light switch or button on it. Any ideas?

Look at the control unit closely. There is usually a small switch (sometimes just a rod sticking out) somewhere in the unit control that lets you turn the light on continuously. At least mine did not, and all I have had never had one.
